Meghna Chakraborty is an LA-based director, producer and dancer/choreographer whose projects span documentaries, narrative film, music videos and live events.
Growing up in the Bay Area, California, Meghna always found herself gravitating towards words, visions, and movement. As an independent filmmaker and producer, Meghna has worked on docu-style content with Goldenvoice/Coachella, multiple short films and music videos, and a tour documentary capturing the historic impact of Punjabi megastar Diljit Dosanjh's 2024 Dil-Luminati Tour across North America. She is currently directing and producing a documentary following the survivors of ex-USC gynecologist George Tyndall in the wake of his death and criminal trial dismissal.
In addition to freelance filmmaking, Meghna has a background in unscripted development at Scout Productions, narrative film development at Participant, and multicultural marketing for TV and Film - working on campaigns for Netflix, Universal Pictures, Apple TV+, and United Artists Releasing. She is also on the Media & Entertainment team at the leading AAPI cultural ecosystem Gold House.
Meghna’s credits as a performer and choreographer include Season One of Netflix’s Never Have I Ever, the 2024 Juno Awards performance with Karan Aujla, A.R. Rahman's Hollywood Bowl concert in 2022, Lilly Singh’s “Be a Triangle” video, and the Broadway workshop of “Come Fall in Love - The DDLJ Musical,” directed by Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films. As a content creator, Meghna specializes in fusion choreography that reflects her hybrid identity, and has amassed over 400K followers and 80M views across social media platforms.
Through her work, Meghna hopes to help shape a world in which younger generations can do and be whatever they dream of. She is particularly passionate about telling the untold stories of women, immigrants, and the children of immigrants.
Meghna received her MFA from the USC School of Cinematic Arts’ Peter Stark Producing Program, and her B.S. in Business Administration at USC’s Marshall School of Business.
